Never let it be said that the hibLOG shirks the harder side of being a Hibby. This was about as hard as it gets. Hibs were notoriously mired in a winless streak against Hearts and putting them out of the Cup would have been a great way to extricate ourselves from the spiritual swamp. Had Dave Beaumont done the indecent thing and sacrificed himself by hauling down Wayne Foster late in the game instead of letting him run on to a pass and score the winner then at least we would have survived to fight again, especially after having creamed them the whole game. An unsporting sentiment? Bloody right!
